CHIP and Y4C Workforce Housing funded in Paradise
A 90-unit affordable multifamily workforce housing development in the town of Paradise in Butte took a major step forward when it was placed on the "A" list of HOME projects to be approved by the California Department of HOusing and Community Development. The $2,000,000 of HOME funding was grant by the Loan and Grant Committee to the Town of Paradise and will be passed on to the HCD Director for final approval. The housing will be one of the cornerstones of an larger, innovative, development of a 44 acre parcel by the Paradise Community Village - a collaborative effort on the part of the Town and Paradise and several community organizations. The 90-unit multifamily development is being undertaken through a partnership between CCRH member Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) and Youth for Change, a regional Butte County social service agency.
