The information provided on this page contains presentations from a one day workshop on the use of private, state and federal funding sources that can be used to meet tribal homeownership housing needs. The workshop provided an introduction for Native American tribal staff, council members, officials and other organizations that provide support for Native American. Topics included:
* Low interest mortgage financing to purchase homes
* Down payment assistance
* Purchasing homes for sale to tribal members
* Purchase of land for development of homes
* Planning and predevelopment for homeownership projects
The focus of this workshop was on funding sources that many tribes are not familiar with or have not used before. This workshop was designed for beginners and those new to these funding sources. Participants were introduced to the basics of submitting a funding application, programs available to tribes, program requirements and affordability targeting.
