Dalia Flores
People’s Self-Help Housing
Dalia Flores originally joined People’s Self-Help Housing (PSHH) as a Project Coordinator in the Multifamily Housing Development department and is now a Senior Project Manager at PSHH.
Before her time at PSHH, Dalia attended California Lutheran University (CLU) in Thousand Oaks, CA, as a first-generation student. She received a Fellowship at CLU that enabled her to earn her Master’s Degree, which demonstrated to her the impact that public sector jobs can have, and she knew she wanted to be part of that space. Although she entered the affordable housing field with no real experience, her willingness to learn and her firsthand knowledge of the importance of safe and stable housing fueled her journey.
Since then, she has grown into her current role, serving the communities she grew up in.
Dalia brings over six years of experience and education to this leadership program. Through this opportunity, she hopes to enhance her technical skills and expand her knowledge of other aspects of affordable housing. Acknowledging that there is a lot that goes into their projects and work, she is always eager to learn more.
As a leader, she aims to strengthen her communication skills and deepen her understanding. She recognizes that the affordable housing industry is both niche and vital, and she is excited about the opportunity to grow through this innovative leadership program, as there is no traditional “school” for affordable housing or leadership. This leadership program represents a unique pathway for development in her field.
