Alma Tzintzun
University: University of Oregon

Alma Tzintzun is from Portland, Oregon and is a first-generation Mexican American. A

recent graduate from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Architecture and a double minor in legal studies and ethnic studies, Alma is interested in bringing social justice and design together.

As a first-generation Mexican American, Alma is passionate about getting immigrant families the right housing, as they have not had the same opportunities historically. Coming from a Mexican immigrant family, she has seen firsthand the struggles that people go through. Wanting to advocate for immigrant rights through design and law, it led Alma to California Coalition for Rural Housing. Leading to applying and working with CCRH this gives her a good opportunity to learn more about affordable housing and knowing what needs to change within the system.

Hoping to take all this information and bring it into the design world, she hopes to make a safe space for BIPOC and immigrant people to make the most of their housing needs, whether it be through design, policy or advocation.
